Aftercare

Yes, but not with general use.
Diamond, (found on knife sharpeners too!) Silica carbide, (wet & dry  sandpapers) some scouring pads (used hard enough) , stainless steel cream cleaner and abrasive cream cleaners (they feel gritty) and of course general sand paper will all have an abrasive effect on the surface of natural stone which can leave it looking dull and scratched.

Yes.  Hot pans can be placed straight from the oven directly onto the granite surface with no effect on the surface.

Yes, despite its appearance, granite is porous.  The lighter the stone the more susceptible it is to staining.  However a correctly used sealant will help to prevent mishaps, you will be instructed how to look after the seal that we will apply to your finished worktop and instructed in the correct use of sealant should it become necessary to re-apply.

We will make an initial inspection of the units you wish to use and advise you accordingly, but as a rule of thumb, properly constructed, level units attached securely to walls will normally be fit for this purpose.

We normally supply 30mm tops for kitchens, but we can also supply 40mm.  Upstands, cooker splashbacks, vanity tops and bathroom item we always recommend 20mm thickness, anything other tends to look ungainly and incongruous.

Simply provide your own sketch, INCLUDING MEASUREMENTS for us to work from. After you place an order, we will confirm your measurements, so it doesn’t have to be to the millimetre.  Mark all edges that will require polishing and the position of hobs and sinks, how the sinks are fitted, inset or under-slung, the position of drainage grooves (usually 5 in a set) and tap holes.  Cooker size, where you would like upstands and splashbacks with the sizes and positions of any cills.  Then decide on the colour you prefer.

You can send us your plan by email or post, or bring it with you when you visit our workshop.

We have an extensive selection of samples for you to choose from and you are welcome to visit our workshop to finalise your stone selection. However, due to the nature of our work, our workshop can be quite dusty so we advise you not to wear your best suit!

We can normally give you a firm price on the same day.

From us coming to you to template the kitchen to supply and fitting is usually 7 to 10 days.
